Terms & Conditions (Consultations)

Consultations can take place by any of the following means:

  1. Face to Face;
  2. Telephonic;
  3. Online Media (Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Skype / What’s App Video Calling).

Our consultation service comprises out of the following:

Any legal question that a client may have in respect of our listed fields of practice.

By proceeding to submit a legal question and effecting payment in respect of the consultation, the client confirms that he / she has familiarised himself / herself with the terms and conditions of the consultation process and further that he / she has read and agree to the following:

Consultation service

We continuously strive to make access to our services more accessible to our clients. We therefore offer our clients the option to schedule consultations by any of the following means:

  1. Face to Face;
  2. Telephonic;
  3. Online Media (Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Skype / What’s App Video Calling).

By proceeding to submit a legal question on our consultation platform and effecting payment in respect of the consultation, the client confirms that he / she has familiarised himself / herself with the terms and conditions of the consultation process and further that he / she has read and agree to the following:

Consultation

The client confirms that he / she wish to schedule a consultation with a representative Parsons & Associates Attorneys.

This consultation may either be face to face, at the firm’s offices or any other place / venue agreed to between the parties.

The consultation may also be conducted via Online Media (Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or any other online media platform agreed to between the parties).

Date and Time of Consultation

After submitting the request and effecting the payment in respect of the consultation, the client will be contacted by a representative of the firm, via email and / or WhatsApp and / or sms and / or telephonically, in order to schedule a suitable date and time for the consultation.

A representative of the firm shall make contact with the client by any of the above mentioned means within a time frame of 24 (twenty-four) business hours in order to make the necessary arrangements for the consultation.

In the event that the clients request for a consultation is made over a weekend / public holiday etc. you will be contacted before 12h00 on the first business day following the weekend and / or public holiday.

Our business hours are from 08:00 to 16:30 during weekdays (excluding public holidays and weekends).

Please note: Contact will only be made with the client in order to schedule and confirm a consultation once payment has been received.

Consultation Fee

The consultation fee is R2500.00 (two thousand five hundred rand) for 60 (sixty) minutes or any part thereof.

Please note that if the consultation is finalized within a shorter period of time than the scheduled 60 (sixty) minutes the normal fee of R2500.00 (two thousand five hundred rand) will still apply.

No refund or part-refund would, therefore, be applicable. The consultation fee is payable in advance and unconditionally non-refundable.

Payment in respect of the consultation should be made by following the Payfast process on our website.

Proof of payment should be emailed to info@parsonslaw.co.za.

Follow up consultations/work

In the event that a follow up consultation has to be arranged due to the nature and / or complexity of the matter, an additional consultation fee of R2500.00 (two thousand five hundred rand) will be charged.

This may occur in instances where research and or other information needs to be obtained in order to provide the client with the correct and necessary legal advice.

In instances where disbursements are incurred Parsons & Associates Attorneys will provide the client with an estimated amount for the necessary disbursement which amount will be payable prior to incurring the expense.

  • Examples of Disbursements (tracer fees; copies of court files; travel costs, further consultations with council etc.).

It will however be at the sole discretion of Parsons & Associates Attorneys whether the additional fees will be charged or not.

Consultation with a Legal Practitioner

Depending on the nature of the client’s matter, the complexity thereof, or any other reason, the legal practitioner who the client consulted with may refer the matter to another legal practitioner (e.g. an attorney / advocate) after the consultation.

The client will after the consultation be furnished with a quote in respect of the relevant work that needs to be done together with a mandate and fee agreement.

Any fees and charges / disbursements for services to be rendered after the consultation will be considered to be separate from the consultation.
